Goosepen Holiday Cottage Details

Goosepen Cottage is one of a handful of properties at Hallflat Farm, and is named from the old goose pen that is now occupied by the cottage garden.  Tucked away in a quiet spot away from the road and farm entrance, the cottage oozes character with many original features, including exposed stone walls and original oak beams.   The cottage has full gas central heating in addition to the wood burner, to keep you warm and cosy on those colder days.  And wifi to keep you connected (if you want to be).

The main living area is on the first floor, giving you a fantastic view up the Wasdale valley from the kitchen window.   The open plan living and dining area has two large sofas, a wood burner (initial wood supplied), Smart TV, bluetooth speaker and DVD player (with a few DVDs, a dining table for 4 and many other comforts. The kitchen contains an oven, electric hob, washing machine and cooking / cleaning utensils.   An upper external door leads to a small seating area which catches the last of the day's sun, and onwards to the lower, south facing, outdoor terrace with seating and a wonderful view up the valley.

Downstairs has two bedrooms, bathroom, separate toilet and hallway.

The first bedroom has a standard size double bed together with wardrobe and chest of drawers for your storage.

The second bedroom can be set up as a twin (2 x 2ft 6 beds) or these can be pushed together for a king size double (with mattress topper), (see photos).   The room also has a wardrobe and chest of drawers.

The bathroom has a shower over the bath. Although small, the toilet is conveniently separate to the bathroom making things easier in the morning!

The cottage is dog friendly, we ask that if you are bringing a dog(s) that you follow our Dogs at Goosepen guidelines (click link).

Please note that due to insurance restrictions, the charging of ELECTRIC VEHICLES at the cottage is NOT permitted.

Guests also have use of a shed (possible bike storage) and a bbq (but please bring your own charcoal and sausages). The cottage is fenced in to make it harder for dogs and small children to run away.
